HPI Savage SS 4.6

What is better than a Savage? Two of them!!! I got a good deal on a Savage SS with engine K4.6 and I couldn't say know. Whats best ? While I have my X 4.6 with F4.6 engine with problems in the spur I could rip the SS with my kid and have great moments! I don't know how many liters have gone through the engine but it's strong and no problems at all, after reading some engine problems in the K4.6 I was a little apprehensive but I cannot confirm them.

I will post a picture soon but the kit is the following: http://www.hpiracing.com/en/kit/874 .

HPI Savage X 4.6 Spur Gear

You know what is worse than a striped spur gear? Two striped spur gear!!!!

Eeermmm I mounted it and withou checking the motor place started and striped the spur gear right away!!!

After checking the screws were really loose and I don't know if they had threadlock... I need to buy threadlock and adjust the gear mesh, lets see if this one will hold!

After this my alternative is to buy an hardened clutch bell and spur gear.

HPI Savage X 4.6

It's been a long time.. I sold my Vorza (now I regret it) and was away from RC world...

Now I bought a Savage X 4.6 ! I never had a nitro but it was what i dreamed since a kid.. I should have bought a nitro in the first place but I have it now and it is great!

I have only played with it for a while and I love it! It's a monster, it eats up nitro pretty fast but hey that sound... I just bought my first replacement part, it seems that the clutch bell and spur gear weren't meshed properly and I striped the spur gear, will place pic soon.

Part Numbers:
Normal spur gear part -> http://www.hpiracing.com/en/part/76937
Heavy duty (my next buy if this one goes again) -> http://www.hpiracing.com/en/part/77127

Striped spur gear:

Old and new one, notice the slipper pad completely polished too

Mail Arrivals - New LiPo's

Today I got my new LiPo's! They arrived fine and well packaged from HobbyKing! I have nothing to do with them, but is was not really fast shipping, is was still decent.

A pait of 2S Turnigy nano-tech 5.6mAh LiPo with 50-100C discharge rate! ROAR approved. I will solder to them Deans plugs as it is what the Vorza use.
The other crazy cable in the picture is what is called a "connect everything to everything"! It is very useful!

As soon as I mount the new diff case in my Vorza and the Deans plugs to solder arrive I will compare the speed of this pack to the other one I have which is an HPI Plazma 2S 3000mAh 20C (low discharge rate...) .

HPI Vorza - First break

Today I got my first break... I was riding in the park, making a few jumps and then out of nowhere a tree appeared in front of my car, BOOM. Reverse.... Hummm I see that the front wheel isn't right...
Swingharm ? Hummm no.... further inspection, it broke the support of the front differential case that keep the screws in place...

This is part #HBC8009-1 or #HB8009-1, its ordered i'm wainting for it to arrive. Everything else is ok.

Careful with those trees, nasty things! :P Now seriously I will be more careful, I hit the three a few times before this. Pictures or videos of mounting the new case will came right up as soon as the part arrive.

Questions or comments, please do ask! :)
